Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade Looking for Package Deal?

Things are looking more and more like  Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade will be playing together in the NBA next season. The two free agent  superstars dined on three consecutive nights in Chicago this past weekend and met with the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat together. Wade and Bosh played together on Team USA in the Beijing Summer Olympics, and have maintained their friendship. The Bulls got some positive signs from Wade after it was made known that the Chicago-raised guard asked for a second meeting with the team. The ongoing custody dispute Wade is engaged in with his ex-wife may also play a role in the 2006 NBA Finals MVP’s decision. Chicago has a better team in place for Wade and Bosh to join with young players like Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah already on the roster. The city of Chicago also has a huge Marquette alumni population (Wade’s Alma mater) who idolize the guard who led the Golden Eagles to the Final Four in 2003. Beyond Michael Beasley, the Heat’s roster doesn’t stack up to the Bulls. Miami should be able to offer Wade more money, and the prospect of possibly playing for Pat Riley could push the deal over the edge. The dramatic conclusion to the free agent soap opera should come to an end soon when players can officially sign with teams on July 8th.

Dwyane Wade Looking for Sidekick

While taking in the NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics, Dwyane Wade told the media he will begin free agency by looking for another NBA star to join him in Miami. The Heat were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs this year, and need a roster make over if they want to compete for a NBA title in the near future. Outside of Wade, Michael Beasley is really the only potential star on Miami’s roster currently. A dominant power forward like Chris Bosh or Amare Stoudemire could be just what Wade needs. That alone won’t be enough to win a NBA title, but if the Heat can get the right role players around two marquee stars things could be different. Wade, at 28, will be a big positive for Miami when recruiting free agents this summer. After struggling in the early half of the season, Miami ended the regular season strong, winning 12 of their last 13 games. The future of the franchise will largely be determined with this summer’s free agency, but things are looking promising for the Heat coming out of Camp Dwyane.
